You are here, so you probably got the lease purchase offer at one point or another, or you’re interested in it. Our recruiters will do a great job explaining it to you; we are here to help you understand the whole position a bit more.
An owner-operator is an entrepreneur
So far, we’ve seen a bunch of questions on the Internet related to what a lease purchase program entails, and we did write several texts trying to help you prepare and be successful in a lease purchase in 2023. What you need to understand is that an owner-operator position is a business-type, entrepreneurial kind of job that allows you to be free! You are not a company driver – being an owner-operator at Super Ego allows you the flexibility no other job can! You can choose where you want to run, as we have 48 states covered, how long you want to run thanks to our flexible hometime, and how you will work.
Benefits of being an owner-operator
If you’re ready to be in charge of your success, keep reading! Our offer comes with plenty of benefits, one of which is having the freedom to choose your truck. At Super Ego, your options are endless, as we have programs meant to fit everyone’s needs. Once you have chosen the model you want, your next choice will be how much you’d like to pay for it.
If you’d prefer to get a used truck, here’s the deal:
For a used truck, your weekly payment would range between $300 and $650, depending on the year of the truck and its mileage. As for the years, our oldest used trucks are from 2018, and the newest are from 2023.
If you’re looking to get a brand new rig, either from 2023 or even 2024, we can offer trucks straight from the factory with a full factory warranty, and their weekly payments are $700.
At the end of the lease, it’s your truck! Believe it or not, you can pay it off in full after one year!
We’re also offering dry vans for rent or lease, and all of them are from 2015 to 2024.
The responsibilities of an owner-operator
The main thing to understand is that you won’t be micromanaged. You are free to run your own lease, but that freedom comes with a lot of responsibilities, costs, and relying on yourself! There are payments to be made, and you can cover them with three loads per week – in short, you need 3 loads a week (that’s average) to cover your expenses; everything above that is your profit. You will be able to see more clearly how much you can make weekly after registration and escrow, which are paid off after the first 8-10 weeks. After that, the deductions get significantly lower, so you should be patient and work especially hard during the first several months!
To help with your overall budget, you have the option to earn money besides driving with us:
- Referral bonus: $1000 after the driver that you brought stays with us for one month, without a limit on the number of drivers you can bring.
- In a fleet owner position, you can employ drivers to work for you and have as many people working for you as you want.
The truth is, a lot of drivers misunderstand how lease purchase works and give up early on without waiting to ripen the fruit of their labor. But after some time and trying different models of work in trucking companies, they eventually realize that there is potential and power behind being your own boss. That’s when they contact us to return and drive for Super Ego again. In fact, statistics we have done show that the percentage of owner-operators returning to the company is 185.7 percent per month and growing!
